Dr. Jennifer Atkinson

Hello, WPHS Tigers!

I’m Dr. Jennifer Atkinson, a proud East Texas native and U.S. Army veteran. I joined WPHS in 2023 as an Instructional Coach, and I'm thrilled to start my second year here as one of your new Assistant Principals!

With twelve years in education, I’ve had the privilege of working as a middle school teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, and principal across several school districts in Central Texas, Naval Base Guam, and Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.

My passion lies in building positive relationships within our school community, supporting our students as they grow, and working with our amazing faculty and staff to achieve their best. I also believe in the power of meaningful parent involvement to enhance our school environment.

Outside of school, I’m married to Army Major (Retired) Tim Atkinson. We have been married for 33 years. Together, we enjoy spending time with our two children Colin & Amanda, our son-in-law, Trevor, our adorable three-month-old grandson, Theo, and our Cavapoo, Lulu. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Mrs. Melissa McGee

I'm thrilled to join Wills Point ISD as the Assistant Principal of Wills Point High School, bringing with me 28 years of rich experience in the field of education. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching science and serving in various administrative capacities, allowing me to witness firsthand the transformative power of education.

Throughout my career, l've been fortunate to receive recognition for my contributions to the field. Being awarded the Region 10 ATPE Administrator of the Year in 2008 and earning the Teacher of the Year accolade at Dr. Ralph H. Poteet High School in 2017 are highlights that | hold dear.

My educational journey began with a bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University, followed by a master's degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, where I further honed my skills and passion for education.

Beyond the professional realm, my family provides unwavering support and joy in my life. I've been blessed with 29 years of marriage to my husband, Dr. Ken McGee, and together we've raised our daughter, Kailie, who is now pursuing her dreams as a medical student at Texas Christian University.

As I step into this new role, l'm excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students, staff, and the wider community of Wills Point High School. With dedication, passion, and a strong support system, I look forward to contributing to the success and growth of everyone involved in our educational journey. Go Tigers!
