Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for success in college, careers, military service, and life after high school by combining rigorous academics with hands-on, real-world learning experiences. Beginning in middle school, students have opportunities to explore a variety of high-demand career fields, including engineering, health science, culinary arts, law enforcement, agriculture, business, and many others.

As students progress through high school, they participate in authentic learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, including guest speakers, industry partnerships, job shadowing, work-based learning, internships, career and technical student organizations (CTSOs), and opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications and credentials.

Wills Point ISD offers 15 Programs of Study designed in accordance with the Texas Education Agency's College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) framework. Each Program of Study provides a coherent sequence of rigorous CTE courses that equips students with the academic knowledge, technical skills, and employability skills needed for success in high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. Completion of a Program of Study also supports students in earning a graduation endorsement under the Texas Foundation High School Program.
