    Final Exam Exemptions

Students that are classified as Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors will have the opportunity to earn final exam exemptions.  These exemptions will be based on attendance, academics, and discipline records.  If the course is a STAAR tested subject, the exam will not be eligible for exemption.  If a student is exempt from taking an exam, he/she is still required to attend school on the day of the exam.  Students who qualify must meet the criteria below:

    ATTENDANCE AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

    GRADE                                        ABSENCES

    90-100                                                3

    85-90                                                  2

    80-85                                                  1

Students meeting the academic and attendance eligibility must also have a clear discipline history - NO ISS, OCS, or DAEP Placements.

A student may choose to take an exam, even though he/she may qualify for an exemption.  If they choose to do so, the grade will only be used if it improves the overall semester average.

Any absence counts against the student for exemption purposes.  The criteria listed below must be followed:

    1. Days missed because of school-sponsored field trips and college days do not count against a student for exemption purposes.  College days are limited to two days for trips and count as excused absences.  These two days must be used during junior and senior years.
    2. Exemptions will be awarded based on student attendance for each class period.  If a student has an unexcused absence for a particular class period, he/she will not receive an exemption for that class.
    3. Six tardies or more in any class will count as one absence.
    4. Court, partial day medical appointments, Religious holidays, TAPS/Veterans Funeral are all acceptable absences that do not count against exemptions.

NUMBER OF CLASSES ELIGIBLE FOR EXEMPTION:

    • SENIORS - May earn 5 exemptions for fall and spring semesters.
    • JUNIORS - May earn 4 exemptions for the spring semester only.
    • SOPHOMORES - May earn 3 exemptions for the spring semester only.

BrightBytes Technology Survey

PARENT TECHNOLOGY SURVEY OPEN THROUGH APRIL 30th

Wills Point ISD uses BrightBytes surveys to get insight from parents, teachers and students on the impact of technology use in both our homes and schools.
BrightBytes is a web-based and research-driven tool that helps us evaluate the current technology resources available to our teachers and students.

Anonymous responses are collected through questionnaires to help us make better decisions about resources needed, training allocated (professional development), and support required (IT support).
